History

We could write a book on this, but let’s keep it brief. DTW was formed by Pete Whelan, Robin Treacher and Bob Durnall in Guisborough in 1989, in the days when it seemed all agencies were acronyms of the founders’ names.

In those days, mobile phones were a novelty (and the size of bricks) and personal computers (the size of filing cabinets) in their infancy. The first generation of Apple Macs was about to transform the world of graphic design – and DTW quickly embraced this new technology. The business grew and prospered.

Fast forward to 2010. Successful management buyouts at DTW’s Kent and Guisborough offices have seen the original company founders retire from the business, with the exception of Pete Whelan, who remains as Chairman.

Pete has now been joined on the board by the next generation.

The first 20 years were an adventure and a big success. Now we’re looking forward to the next 20!
