Earlier this week DTW Director Hayley Stewart and I attended the Memberwise Membership Excellence 2022 conference as exhibitors. Our two top takeaways?
- Who needs the gym when you can carry three banner stands, an overnight bag, a giant Hotel Chocolat cracker and a suitcase full of sweets, chocolate and brochures around London?
- Often the best learning is done when people from completely different backgrounds come together to share ideas and learn from each other.
The day had a fantastic energy about it, and it was great to see people from membership bodies across so many different sectors meeting up to talk about a common goal – how can we provide the best for our members?
It truly demonstrated the value of Memberwise putting on events like these and providing an opportunity to collaborate, taking ideas from completely different industries, and using them to innovate in your own.
Aside from meetings lots of friendly new faces at our DTW stand, I also attended a few talks which gave me a brilliant insight into our clients’ world and the challenges they overcome daily, getting to grips with data to segment key groups of members and really understand what’s most valuable to them so offers can be improved, retention rates raised and new members attracted.
It was also a chance to meet up with clients, some who we’ve worked with since January, in-person for the first time. An amazing opportunity to catch up and put our guestimations of everyone’s heights to the test outside of a Teams call!
All in all, a brilliant day and a big thanks to Memberwise for organising!
