Team DTW takes on Roseberry Topping
Every now and then it’s good to do something different. Especially when it’s with wonderful people in a spectacular place and the sun is shining.

We’re a multi-talented bunch here at DTW and we’ve had great fun creating illustrations for, and animating, our advert for the Law Society’s ‘Use a professional. Use a solicitor’ campaign. The advert, which launched on ITV Player in March 2015, highlights how wills are not just for old people – everyone should have one! (Turn up your sound) We wanted to capture the attention of all of those people who don’t yet have a will, or whose circumstances have now changed making their will invalid, and highlight the importance of making a will and using a professional solicitor. We created
Live streaming is one of those technologies social has had a hard time harnessing for its own uses. Yes, Skype and Facetime exist for video chats and have achieved the biggest market saturation and name recognition while apps like Viber offer similar options – there has been little in the way of live streaming just for social. Google have made a good fist with Hangouts On Air, allowing 10 people at a time to take part in a video chat. It will also link to YouTube allowing an unlimited number of people to watch the stream but it somehow doesn’t
Following last night’s PRMoment awards in Manchester, we’ve got another item to add to the #TeamDTW trophy cabinet. We won the award for the Internal Communications Campaign of the Year jointly with Coast & Country Housing for the “I am Coast & Country” campaign, based around the video we created for Coast & Country Housing. The “I am Coast & Country” video has been used extensively as the centre of Coast & Country’s induction programme, internal communications and in broader external communications work. Coast & Country Housing is the largest registered provider of accommodation in the Redcar and Cleveland Borough, owning and managing
We’re celebrating #WorldBookDay at DTW with a selection of our favourite literary quotes. It was a tough process whittling them down from our huge list of suggestions we put together. We think the quotes we’ve selected above reflect what we look for in team members – tenacity, curiosity and intelligence. As a team we like to do enjoy what we do and make sure we know what the next big thing is for our clients and ourselves. Feel free to share these with your friends or share your own favourite quotes with us @DTW_agency or #TeamDTW on Twitter!
So farewell, for now, Google Glass. Reports of its death are quite understated – it’s dead in the same way that a caterpillar entering a cocoon is dead – it is merely metamorphosing into a lean, slicker, more public and battery-friendly version which unlike its ancestors rise and assumed fall, will not launch until it’s 100% ready. Naysayers will claim Glass has been an expensive failure, a very public flop but I would counter that it’s actually been the most successful public beta trial of a tech product ever. The technical and consumer behavioural lessons learned will be invaluable for
I’ve spent the past three years as Chair of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in the north east of England. Last night the group held its 2015 AGM where we heard from the CIPR’s new national President Sarah Pinch – she came, she saw, she delivered – really interesting.
